Twitter News | How brands are reacting to the new 280 character limit

Did you log onto Twitter this morning and notice that your feed was a bit more, well, wordy?  That’s because Twitter have announced that they are rolling out their new 280 character limit to all users!  Hurrah!

That means more hashtags, more emoticons and – of course – more space for you to write your thoughts and opinions.  I think this is great news for everyone – the 140 limit always felt a little restrictive, and this will be great for brands who want to be more creative with their tweets; there’s a lot more space to do this now.

Examples below of how brands are embracing the new character limit

That’s what the brands think – what do you think? There seems to be plenty of call for Twitter to introduce an edit button (yes!), and no need for a character increase.
